Each piece is cast by hand from our proprietary high-density engineered concrete blend and ships across Canada and the continental US. Three Levels of Custom
Custom means something specific here. There are three ways to commission it.
A custom colour on an existing model. The most direct path. Any bathtub in the Studio Collection can be cast in one of more than 400 custom colours, pigmented through the full depth of the material rather than applied at the surface. The form is proven; the colour is yours.
A new exterior form on the Studio Collection interior. Every model in the collection shares one engineered interior — that interior is the constant, and its materials and engineering are already resolved. Around it, we can develop a new exterior silhouette at the collection’s 60-inch footprint — softened, rounded, or more sculptural — a new form we design and propose for your project.
A fully bespoke commission. A new size or a new geometry, typically in the 66-to-72-inch range, engineered from the ground up — new interior, new exterior. A word of candour on size: a longer bathtub holds far more water than the footprint suggests, and a 72-inch soak can outrun a standard household water heater. We can build it — and we will tell you plainly what it asks of your mechanical room, so the tub you commission is one you can actually fill hot.
Custom Colour, Approved in Stages
We match colour physically, not on a screen. The standard palette, both exterior textures, and an overview of custom colour are covered on our colours and finishes page; what follows is how a custom match is approved.
Once a custom colour is commissioned, we cast a concrete sample tile matched to your reference. Approval runs in stages: the tile is first photographed beside that reference for your review, and only once you are satisfied does the physical sample ship to you for final written approval in your own light. The approved sample then becomes the production standard. Cast concrete carries natural variation piece to piece; the sample keeps that variation anchored to a standard you have held in your hands.
A custom colour typically adds $500 CAD or more to the price of the bathtub, confirmed exactly with your quote before anything is cast. The premium reflects what a true match involves: the colour is developed as its own recipe, cast on real concrete, and pigmented through the full depth of the material — and some colours and pigments are simply more costly and complex to cast, with deep, saturated, and specialty tones at the higher end. Matching Fixtures — One Material Language
A bathtub sets the material tone of a bathroom. It does not have to carry it alone. SpaCrete casts matching fixtures — vanities, integrated sinks, shower surrounds, wall panels — from the same engineered concrete, in the same approved colour, held to the same standard as the collection. It is design continuity: one material language carried across the room, so the bathtub reads as part of a composed whole rather than an object placed in it.
How a Commission Runs
You inquire; we respond with a clear read on which path fits. Designs are presented privately, a formal quote sets the scope before you commit, and custom colours are approved against physical samples. Delivery is crated and coordinated with your site; larger and bespoke pieces are crated to suit. How long does a custom concrete tub take?
Catalogue orders ship in approximately 8–10 weeks. A custom colour adds a sample approval round. A new exterior form runs up to 16 weeks from deposit; a fully bespoke commission, up to six months.
Will a 66" or 72" bathtub work in my home?
Often — with planning. Larger tubs hold far more water than the footprint suggests, so we review water-heater capacity with you up front, alongside floor structure and access.
